Inflation hits the poor hardest
This article links to a report on Joseph Rowntree Foundation research that suggests there has been a higher rate of inflation for the poor than for the well-off. The minimum cost of living they calculated has risen by 5% compared to 2.5% for the CPI. It does suggest that, where possible, benefits need to rise more rapidly than the official rate of inflation.
