Differences between support for Royal and Sarkozy among different social groups

This article from the Independent points to the different levels of support among different groups for the 2 candidates in the French presidential elections. It seems Ms Royal had greater support among the 18-25 age group and the 45 to 59 age group. Mr Sarkozy, on the other hand, was significantly in the lead for 25-34 year olds and for the over-60s - the fastest growing age group in France. In addition, the self-employed backed Sarkozy overwhelmingly - whereas blue-collar workers and public-sector white collar workers leaned towards Royal

Geographically, Sarkozy won a majority of the votes cast in 2/3 of departments. The losing side, although it lost by a clear margin, was able to take the lead in one-third of the departments of France.
